LAFAVE: HERITAGE OF THE LAND

On our property at LaFave, we have a well-kept pioneer stone corral that runs along our property boundary. We have preserved this piece of history as a way to honor these early settlers.

The land around Zion has a rich history. At LaFave, we are proud that our property carries a heritage of the rugged American West and pioneer spirit. In 1862, the early pioneers of Zion carved a difficult existence out of the desert landscape with few tools and materials. Before there was barbed wire fencing, the pioneers of Utah would construct stone corrals to contain their animals. In several of the national parks in Utah, you may still see remnants of these early stone fences.
